The Porter-Cable 43258PC is a 3 Wing Slot Cutter. The three-wing slotting cutters are a very efficient and easy way to cut a groove of a specific width in the edge of a work piece. The saw blade style action provides a smooth cut and delivers effective chip removal. A common use for slotting cutters is the installation of T-moldings, weather stripping and tongued wood edgings. Slotting cutters are also used to join wood by cutting slots for reinforcing splines. A slotting cutter that cuts a 5/32 inch wide slot can also be used for makeshift biscuit joining.
