The heavy-duty 80-Gallon ASME constructed tank houses a 7.5 HP, 240V induction motor with manual thermal overload protection, which requires a magnetic starter that is not only included, but mounted and wired to the motor. The powerful motor of the Porter-Cable Air Compressor is needed to turn the two-stage, oil-lubricated pump equipped with stainless steel valves, cast-iron cylinder and automotive-grade pistons, rings and connecting rods to produce the 175 pounds per square inch (PSI) the 80 Gallon Compressor operates at.
