Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this product
Comments: This tool is powerful, lightweight and compact. The impact action drives screws into wood amazingly, even long phillips head deck screws without stripping. The battery performance is also excellent. These 18v Lithium-Ion batteries are definitely superior to the old style ni-cad and nimh batteries. I bought this tool for carpentry work but I find myself using it frequently for mechanical work ie. impacting and bolt turning. However, it does have enough torque to destroy 1/4" sockets rapidly so I would recommend using impact sockets with a lifetime warranty. As far as being reconditioned, the tool and accessories appeared new. The only thing I could see was that the corner of the M in "Makita" on one side of the tool was rubbed off. I did more damage to it the first time I used it than it had out of the box.
