I am very pleased with this tool. I have another Makita that probably weighs twice as much as this one - the lighter weight really makes a difference after a long days work. It's short length has come handy several times when working in tight places - I never thought the light would come in so handy - really helps my old eyes see the slot on the screws when working in poorly lighted areas.
With the smaller batteries this is not the ideal tool for heavy tasks - like drilling multiple holes using large spade bits or Forstner bits over one inch in diameter. Works great with wall board screws and screws 3 inches long - the batteries really do recharge in about 15 minutes. (Posted on 6/1/11)

My Hitachi died so I needed a replacement. I have used it pretty heavily lately and am impressed with this tool. The weight is great but the torque is amazing for a small tool. Driving screws through double 2 X 8's is no problem! Run time is awesome too. I couldn't be more pleased. ToolKing delivery was very fast too. (Posted on 5/11/11)

I bought this drill to replace an older 18v Makita NiCad drill that I had forever before it finally died on me. I had great luck with the old Makita (dropped from ladders, countless screws and holes, long battery life, etc), so I decided to stick with Makita for my replacement.
After a couple of weeks using this drill, I would say that overall, this is a great drill. It has a nice feel in your hand, plenty of power, and the light is far more useful than I thought it would be. The size is also nice. Fits into spots that I definitely couldn't reach with my old Makita and would have to turn to my smaller, but less powerful 9 volt DeWalt. Battery life is not quite as long as the NiCad, but with the 15 min charge, it is not a big issue.
The big question is durability and life of the drill/batteries, but only time will tell. Like I said, overall, I'm very happy with this drill. Tool King shipped it super quick and it came it great condition.
As an FYI, I am primarily a woodworker, occasional cabinet maker, and random carpenter. (Posted on 8/26/11)
