The DeWalt DW9216BP 18V Battery and Charger set charges all 7.2V-18V DeWalt batteries (except Univolt). This dual-port 18 volt battery charger ensures you have charged batteries whenever you need them - you can keep working with one battery in use, one charged and ready and the other being charged.
The DeWalt DW9216BP battery charger pack uses the 3-stage charging system. First stage, when the initial bulk charge is at very high amperage and increasing voltage; second stage, known as the absorption stage, when the amperage ramps down and voltage peaks, and the third stage, which is a float stage with both low current and voltage. This process not only ensures fast charging, but also extends battery life.
The power charger set also features a thermal protection system that prevents your battery from getting damaged. 5 LED indicators on the DeWalt DW9216BP show the battery charging status - whether the battery is charged, charging, power line status, whether the pack has to be replaced and even the battery temperature.
