The DeWalt DC984 uses a DeWalt built high-torque, high efficiency motor to deliver 450 in-lbs of torque for drilling large diameter holes and driving large screws. The XRP drill comes equipped with a patented 3-speed transmission. The 3-speed option allows the drill to be set at the optimum speed range for the application being performed to maximize performance. The DC984 has a maximum speed of 1800 RPM which is 29% faster than high speed. The Cordless Hammerdrill/Drill/Driver also has a maximum BPM speed of 30600 BPM which allows for high performance drilling in masonry applications.
