Questions on DeWalt DC012 Cordless/Corded Worksite Radio/Charger

  • From MATT at 9/25/10 6:14 PM
    • Besides the station presets and the 120v outlets, what is the difference between the DC011 & DC012?
    • The main and significant difference is the fact that the DC012 Radio/Charger is able to charge the new DeWalt 18-Volt lithium ion Nano battery. The DC011 will run off the new Nano battery, but the Nano lithium ion battery is not able to be charged by the DC011.

  • From Phann at 7/5/10 12:30 PM
    • Are the speakers GSM shielded so it will work with my iPhone without making the GSM noise?
    • The speakers are not shielded and it will be possible for the iPhone to interfere with the DeWalt DC012 Worksite Radio/Chargers playback.

  2. Does a lot, could do a little more

I haven't had much of a chance to see for myself if the tuner is as weak as other reviewers claim but I suspect it could be better Being able to charge a battery or run the radio using the battery is huge. What would really put this tool over the top is an IPod dock. Being able to play an IPod through the aux. port is nice but being able to secure the IPod to the radio instead of it flopping around at the end of a cord would be better. A dock would also let you charge the IPod and that would be huge. (Posted on 3/11/11)

To be able to charge all my different dewalt batteries in including the new lithium makes this purchase well worth the price. The radio and being able to use my mp3 is a bonus. (Posted on 4/20/11)

170 is a lot for a radio, but not for a dewalt radio that does these things. (Posted on 10/21/10)

Good sound, built to last. Draw back is the small watch type battery that runs the radio controls. It does not last long. It should have a couple of AAA batteries. (Posted on 12/8/10)

I had previously owned a DC011 and it was great when it was destroyed I purchased the DC012 and the extra features are nice and its nice to be able to charge Li-ion batteries. But the reception is poor compared to the DC011. (Posted on 12/24/11)
