The Delta 46-715 is a 14 inch cast-iron lathe with a 3/4 HP, 60 Hz., 9.8 Amp motor. It has the capacity to turn spindles up to 40 inch long and for faceplate turning, the swing over the tool rest base is 10-1/8 inch and swing over the bed is 14 inch. The headstock pivots for outboard turning and can be positioned anywhere along the bed. The cast-iron construction and a ribbed design give the lathe bed its strength while reducing vibration. The hollow tailstock ram travels 3 inch and allows the use of a hollow cup center and long boring bits for drilling into work pieces such as lamp bases. With the unit stopped, the 24 separate lockable divisions on the spindle and detents on the headstock make it easy to sand flats or make precise calculations without the need to remove the work piece from the lathe. It's multi-position locking levers and an oversized tool rest locking handle make for convenient adjustments, while the on/off switch is located high above the motor assembly for quick and easy access.
