The Delta 43-460 is a Heavy-Duty Wood Shaper Package Deal with 50-273 Mobile Base, 43-188 Sliding Shaper Jig and 43-800 Router Bit Chuck. The spindle, housing, motor, raising and lowering mechanism are a single self-contained unit, securely assembled to the underside of the table for absolute 90° spindle-to-table alignment. The rugged drive spindle assembly and permanently lubricated ball bearings are preloaded to prevent distortion at high speeds which assures accurate, chatter-free shaping. Its massive 30 inch x 27 inch table (with standard cast-iron extension wings) provides extra support for shaping large work. Also a precision ground face and ribbed under-table-construction prevents warping. The shaper has precision milled 3/8 inch x 3/4 inch T-slot, miter slot accommodate miter gage, sliding miter jig and other accessories for holding workpiece. It features conveniently-grouped controls which are at the front of the machine within easy reach of the operator from his normal working position. Deep-tapered spindle design allows for easy changing of accessory spindles to permit use of a wide variety of shaper cutters. Table opening size can be varied, as needed, by removing special table insert rings.
