Delta set out to build a saw that would be as comfortable in the back of a contractor's pick-up truck as in a craftsman's warm, dry shop. Tough enough to hold its own on the nastiest of job sites and take all the abuse a work crew can dish out, yet price enough to spend an evening at home on the bench making all sorts of perfect cuts.
The 8-1/4" Builder's Saw from Delta fits the bill. Its carbide-tipped blade cuts 2-1/4" at 90° and 1-3/4" at 45°-ample capacity to cut dimensional 2x4 lumber. The 36-275R offers full 9" capacity in front of the blade at 1" depth of cut. It also rips 12" right of the blade.
It has a 26" x 20" table that is made of tough, durable SMC-a space-aged glass reinforced polyester resin compound. This material won't warp, spring, or rust. A single control handle automatically aligns its rip fence parallel to the blade as it simultaneously locks to the table for accurate setups. And there's a self-contained 13 Amp, 115V, 4500 RPM motor that develops plenty of cutting power for just about any job. All day long.
